The Alpine House at Harlow Carr…..
Alpines as Art…..
I try to visit the RHS garden at Harlow Carr, Harrogate at least every season and it never fails to take my breath away. In Autumn it can be the large majestic trees in the Arboretum, in high Summer the miles of jewel coloured herbaceous borders. This time it was difficult to pin point just one area, but the detail, texture, shape and form of the miniature plants in the Alpine house was quite special…..
As a gardener I have never been ‘bitten’ by the alpine bug. After visiting the Alpine House at Harlow Carr I think for the first time I could truly appreciate the beauty of these delicate plants and I may be changing my mind!
I will be posting more images from Harlow Carr this week including the stunning herbaceous borders and more star plants for July’s Plantaholics.
Wishing you a wonderful week…..
kind regards
